Prof. Josef Marek, died in Prague on October 22 at the age of 83, having – since his presidency of the FEAMC (2000-2008) – bravely faced several health problems. He was widely known in the medical world as an endocrinologist internist, specialist of the pituitary gland (he was – among other distinctions – a member of the Czech Academy of Medicine).
It was he who organized the first FEAMC Congress in Eastern Europe (Prague 1996), a magnificent congress, of which we have kept an excellent memory. He was an exemplary FEAMC president, very polyglot, and always full of humanity and kindness. He was more than a friend. I pray his wife, his daughter, and his friends, to accept all my condolences. Requiescat in pace.
Dr. François Blin
Immediate Past President FEAMC
